From the Wisdom of the All Learning Dolly Momma

High on a hill,  between corn and bean fields, in the middle of southern Iowa 30 miles north of Misery,  lives a silly old woman who has raised a whole world of children, most of whom are gone from the nest now.  Only one remains, and as the remaining one can only take in so much in the way of wisdom without experiencing brain overload,  this little corner of Cyberspace is born.  A safe place of random thoughts, muses, and silly ideas, born of personal experiences and a head full of gray hair  (and is that grEy or grAy?).  Each one is  fully tested, and deemed safe, afterall, I survived the thought, it's likely you will too.

WARNING!

The views and thoughts are those of the Wise Dolly Momma,  they are NOT scientific, and are often random and incomplete.  Read at your own risk.

It IS possible to kiss away a boo boo.

As I meditated on this thought it occured to me that with a kiss,  physical pain is made a little more bearable, even if only momentarily.  This is a time tested treatment for many a small child, but somehow, as the child grows, so grows the pain.  By the time we reach adulthood pain is no longer eased by a mere kiss, or is it?

Heartache, emotional hurt, and a host of other things can indeed be made better by a kiss.  BUT....the kiss cannot be a cursory "kiss on the run"  it has to be given with the entire being of the giver in order for it to have it's full effect, for the recipient can tell when a kiss is given with reservation.

Try it, run your own experiments.  I think you'll find this to be true, after all, many a marriage has been saved by the old "Kiss and Make-up" therapy.  It's when the kissing stops that it all falls to bits.

  1. Kisses are always nice :), however as the person gets older a hug will sometimes make things more bearable as well. You can never substitute the hug of a loving parent!
